Arizona State Championships
U13 State Champions, U14 State Finalist, U15 State 3rd Place

The Tuzos 94 are the 2007 U-13 Arizona State Champions! After defeating Sereno, SC del Sol and ASUSC Blackhawks the tuzos claimed their first state championship. The boys will be representing Arizona in Las Vegas at the Far West Regionals. The 94 Boys are coached by Jose Corral and Jesse Cadena and are now considered one of the top teams in the nation. The Tuzos 93 Interamerica finished as U-14 State Finalist and the Tuzos 92 Coca Cola finshed in 3rd place, losing in PK's to Region IV champion Sereno 92 White.

Tuzos 94 Advances to 2007 US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships

By winning the recent US Youth Soccer Arizona Championship, the Boys Under-13 Tuzos 94 have qualified to compete in the US Youth Soccer Region IV (West Regional) Championships. The Tuzos 94 will be among the more than 256 top boys and girls US Youth Soccer teams from the 14 state associations competing for the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championship title, June 18–24, at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex and the Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex in Las Vegas. 94's Awarded by General Consulate

In a special ceremony, the General Consulate of Mexico in Phoenix, recognized the effort of the youth members of the Tuzos 94, that recently won the Arizona State Championships. "We are very proud of their effort and they are an example for all the sportsmen of Arizona. I invite them to continue being endeavored and that they achieve their following goal", entrusted them general consul Carlos Flowers Vizcarra. The Tuzos 94, will be prepared to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada where they will participate in the Far West Regionals from Friday 18 to Thursday 24. “This is a very large motivation for the boys and makes them realize the achievement they carried out and what they can do in a few more days" assured Jesse Cadena, president of Tuzos, after receiving an individual diploma next to the players and the technical body. The expenses of their participation in the tournament are around $15,000 between transportation, lodging and feeding the players, for which the Mexican consulate has offered to help.

The Latino Equation

How far has American soccer come in providing opportunities for young Latino players?

Nearly 90 percent of Barcelona USA's 500 players are Latinos. That many can't afford the high costs of American youth soccer is no surprise. In the world of paid coaches and tournament travel, it can cost more than $20,000 annually to run a competitive team of 15 players. Three years ago, when the U.S. Soccer Federation commissioned an extensive participation study, one of its conclusions was that, "Among whites, the higher the household income, the higher the likelihood of playing soccer. Among Hispanics, just the opposite is true." Because there's no shortage of non-Latino players whose parents can afford elite youth soccer, and these players have become increasingly better, it would be tempting for youth clubs to ignore low-income Latino youth.......

Players selected to RSL Arizona

With over 200 kids from all over Arizona trying out for RSL Arizona’s Under U-16 team, three players from Tuzos SC were selected to the RSL Arizona roster. ‘91 Forward Eduardo Ramirez, ’91 Forward Luis De la Rosa and ’92 defender Gilberto Gomez will be playing with RSL Arizona’s U-16 teams this summer in the USL Super Y-League Rocky Mountain Division. TUZOS do well in 2006 State Cup

This year the club had four teams competing in the cup, with three of the teams making it to the final four. Although the club did not win a state title this year, we are proud to say that we had a team make it to the state finals. U15 team travels to Copa Coca-Cola National Championship

The Pachuca 91 Tuzos U15 team traveled to the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles to compete in the Copa Coca-Cola National Championships on May 20-21.

Although the team played well, the tuzos were not able to advance from the group stage of the event. The team was matched up against some very talented teams from Chicago, Miami and San Diego. The boys tied San Diego's South Coast Bayern and Miami's Gun storm in bracket play. In their last game in bracket play the team lost by a penalty kick to the Chicago team who was crowned national champion. The team from Miami and Chicago both advanced to the final and the San Diego team advanced to the semi-finals. In spite of being recipients of the worst draw possible, the boys played excellent.

92 BOYS REACH STATE FINALS

The TUZOS 92 Coca Cola started state cup play with a bang, defeating the MMRSC Thunder 2-0. The boys kept their shut-out beating the Sierra Vista 92 Enforcers 3-0, in the second game. The tuzos would then face off against three time state champion the Sereno 92 White, the game was very close, but the tuzos would lose the great battle 2-1. Being sent down to the losers bracket the tuzos would again play the Sierra Vista Enforcers, this time beating them 5-1.

There next game in the tournament was played against the Tempe 92 Pros. The boys put 2 goals on the board early in the game and came up with a 3-2 victory.With one more win getting them into the finals, the tuzos faced off against last years finalist the Phoenix United King Cobras. The tuzos came out strong and played a great game, sending them to the championship, with a score of 2-0. The boys would play another great game against sereno, but would end their great state run losing 2-1. The boys improved alot this year, finishing in 5th last year and this year finishing in 2nd. Congratulations to the TUZOS 92 Coca Cola for reaching the finals.

91's Win Trip to Nationals

It was an outstanding weekend for the tuzos as they were crowned champions of the Copa Coca-Cola Phoenix Region. The regional event included over 32 teams from Arizona and Texas. The boys went 7-0, scoring 35 goals and still keeping a shut-out. In the semi-final, the boys took control from the opening whistle and earned a 2-0 win over the Cisco 91 Black. In the final, the tuzos played an undefeated Texas Fire from Texas South. It was a close game, with forward Eduardo Ramirez and midfielder Michael Garcia scoring in the last minutes of the game to send the tuzos to Nationals. The team was crowned champions soon after and Eduardo Ramirez was named MVP of the tournament. The will team will now be taken to Los Angeles, CA to compete for the Copa Coca-Cola National Championship to determine the teams that will travel to Germany for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and who will represent the U.S.A. in a International Soccer Camp in Germany. TUZOS at Silver State Invitational

This weekend the TUZOS 92 Coca Cola and the TUZOS 93 Interamercia competed in the Silver State Invitational in Las Vagas, Nevada.

The TUZOS 93 Interamerica started the tournament with a 2-1 victory over the Las Vegas Premier. The second game in group play would be against another Nevada side, The Las Vegas Lions. The boys came out strong and won their second game, 2-0. In the third game the tuzos played ASUSC Blackhawks from Arizona. The tuzos would advance to the final with a 3-2 win over the blackhawks. Finishing in first in the group, the boys would play in the final game against the blackhawks for the second time that day. This the tuzos took the championship 3-0. Congratulations to the U-13 boys for bringing home the championship.

The TUZOS 92 Coca Cola would also make it to the final in the tournament. The boys won their first game against gilbert 2-0 and their second game 1-0 over the Thunder from Arizona. In the third game the tuzos would face off against the Impact Black from Utah. The tuzos took control from the opening whistle and cruised to a 3-1 victory. The boys advanced to the final game against the #7 ranked team in the region, the Las Vegas '92 Premier. The tuzos battled hard, but could not come up with another goal to tie the game, the boys would lose a close game 2-1. Congratulations on making it to the final.

TUZOS 94 Presidents Day Champions

The TUZOS U12 Boys competed this past weekend in the prestigious SC Del sol President’s Day Tournament. The boys would face off against some of the best teams in the region. The tuzos started the tournament with a 4-0 win over the Arizona finalist, ASUSc Blackhawks. In the second game the boys played the #19 ranked team in Region IV and Utah Finalist, La Roca 94. The tuzos played a great game and beat the Utah team 3-1. Their last game in group play was against Heat Fc from Nevada. The boys played a tought game and came out with a 2-1 vicory. In the Quarter-Finals the boys played FC Portland Grey from Oregon.The tuzos took control from the opening whistle and cruised to a 5-1 victory. The boys would again have to face La Roca for the second time. Like the first game, the second would not be much different as the boys headed to the with a 2-1 victory. The final was played against the 7th ranked team in the nation. The boys let up a goal early in the game, but the boys responded by sending 2 long balls to the opposite field and put them away in fine fashion. Congratulations tuzos on well deserved tournament championship.

TUZOS 91 U-14 State Champions

The TUZOS 91 Boys win 2005 Arizona State Championship. The road was long and hard, but after some dramatic comebacks against some very talented competition the 91 boys take the U-14 state championship. The 91 boys, a first year team, defeated Sereno, Gilbert and West Valley to claim the clubs first state championships. Congratulation to all our boys for an outstanding job. The boys will now represent Arizona at the Far West Regionals in Aurora, Colorado. Forward Eduardo Ramirez and sweeper Victor Valentin were rewarded for their outstanding play with scholarships to train in Mexico this summer with Club Pachuca. The team will play state champions from Cal-South, Idaho and Wyoming in bracket play. Good Luck at Regionals!
